They hadn’t listened to you when you told them about your visions.
You’d always had them, since you were young. Being Diligence, they kept you aware of what was going to happen. Kept you knowing. Always knowing. The other virtues praised you for the gift, especially during the first war, when your sight played a key factor in your winning. Your visions were a gift.
Till you saw something they didn’t like.
The visions of the second war, of hell’s invasion, started after Chasity joined the virtues. Clear in a way they hadn’t been since the first war. You could see them, smell them, hear them. The blood shed as the sins descended upon the temple. You knew, you knew this was different. Not a simple nightmare, but a prophecy.
You’d begged Humility to listen- you pleaded for Charity to take action as you warned them. But all you got were shaken heads and coo’s of ’we’re safe in heaven.’
So, perhaps in cowardice, you locked yourself in your tower. Watching and waiting for the chaos.
And when it came it was bloody as you said it would be. Screaming, running, fighting. Faces you hadn’t seen since the first war. Old friends.
You watched as Wraith took the temple, as the sins took hold of heaven- and the realms became one. One big hell. And all the while you hide.
You hide until Envy wouldn’t allow you.
“Open the door, eyes,” Their chilling voice called from the other side of the door as you scrambled for something to protect yourself with. Eyes. A nickname you hadn’t heard in decades. A nickname only they used. “I know you're there, open up.”
