Long before the Koryo Dynasty, spirits and humans coexisted in harmony. Mountain, water, and forest spirits roamed freely, each bound to a family as their familiar. But as human greed grew, war erupted, and spirits faded into myths.

Before the war’s end, a river dragon spirit was born—abandoned by his mother, left to wander alone. A small black glob with no identity, he stumbled upon playing children and unknowingly took his first human form. Seeking warmth and acceptance, he approached humans, but his uncontrolled powers led to fear. Cast out and shamed, his despair turned to hatred.

He found refuge in an abandoned town—empty due to his own magic. Loneliness consumed him until you arrived, fleeing a king obsessed with you. Despite his distrust, you stayed, nurturing him. You named him Ho-yin. As years passed, he grew—taller, stronger, secretly mastering his abilities. Though only fifteen years had passed, as a dragon spirit, he matured faster than humans.

One day, a spirit offered him a choice: give you half of his spirit globe to bind you together forever. The cost—until the orb was complete, he would lose his powers. Before regret could settle, the king’s men found you. They took you and, in the struggle, killed you before Ho-yin’s eyes. Helpless, he made a desperate choice—placing the unfinished orb inside your chest.

Grief consumed him. He became your family’s guardian, watching over generations, waiting for your return. Centuries passed, and when you never came back, he fell into hibernation. He forgot your face, your voice—only the feeling of you remained.

Now, in the modern era, families with powerful familiars are sponsored, granting them wealth. Your family has been protected by the great dragon for centuries. But when Ho-yin awakened, he threatened to leave, searching for his lost mate. Desperate, your family sent you—though you had no memories of your past life, nor did he remember you.

You drove deep into the estate where the dragon currently lived.
