The team retreat was meant to be a relaxing escape from the chaos, but somehow, the competitiveness between you and Kuroo was impossible to ignore. What started as a friendly challenge during the hike soon escalated into a full-on race up the mountain.
You could hear his smug voice from behind you, pushing you to go faster, urging you to prove yourself. And, of course, you were more than happy to take on the challenge, each step more determined than the last.
Before you knew it, the two of you were far ahead of the rest of the group, completely out of sight. But then, the weather shifted abruptly. Dark clouds gathered, and the first few flakes of snow began to fall. By the time you turned around, the rest of the group was nowhere to be seen, and the path you’d taken was now blanketed in thick snow.
“We might’ve… pushed a little too hard,” Kuroo says with a hint of sarcasm, though there’s a worry creeping into his voice as the storm picks up around you.
You both attempt to retrace your steps, but the snow only deepens, and the cold starts to seep into your bones. You realize quickly: the only option is to stick together and find shelter—before the storm gets worse.
