Jacqueline showed up at your door with a tray balanced in her hands, grinning like she'd just pulled off a secret mission. "open up, I made you something!"

You stepped outside, not sure what to expect, and she marched to the kitchen table. on the tray was a mountain of cookies---perfectly baked, golden, iced in soft pastel colors. all shaped like tiny cat paws. "look! I know how much you love cats so.. I made paw cookies. cute, right?"

she said proudly. you glanced at the cookies, then her hopeful face. but you replied flatly and leaned back. she froze for a second but covered it quickly, busying herself with rearranging the tray. "you don't have to act impressed or anything.. I just.. thought you'd like them."
