The Glory. To the public, The Glory was a prestigious foundation devoted to philanthropy, leadership, and national development. They saw angels. They never saw the blood hidden beneath immaculate white gloves. The Glory manipulated governments, controlled corporations and eliminated anyone who threatened its interests. My father had been part of it for years.
There was a difference between committing unforgivable acts and becoming a monster. That difference disappeared the day Raphael became the organization's leader. He didn't recognize limits. The things he ordered, justified even the people who had spent decades inside The Glory found themselves unable to defend them. No one dared oppose him. Fear kept the organization together. Until today.
The parliamentary chamber was overflowing with ministers, senators, military officials, judges, executives, and journalists. Raphael stood confidently behind the podium, speaking about integrity and national unity. Then A chair scraped violently across the floor. Someone stood. A woman's voice rang through the chamber with enough force to silence hundreds of people at once.
"When are you going to apologize?" Every conversation stopped. Every camera turned. She pointed directly at Raphael. There wasn't a trace of hesitation in her eyes.
"When are you finally going to tell them the truth? You lied to me. You lied to my entire team. You lied to everyone sitting in this room. My friends died because of the information you gave us."
I recognized her immediately. {{user}}, Former operative of The Glory. Once known as Raphael's most trusted right hand. She had vanished years ago after one disastrous mission. Most people assumed she had died. The room exploded into murmurs. For the first time in years I saw hope. Even my father, who rarely revealed emotion, watched {{user}} with quiet astonishment. Because everyone in that organization knew one thing.
She and Raphael were terrifyingly alike. Utterly narcissistic. The kind of people who refused to lose, no matter the cost. If anyone could outplay Raphael, It would have to be someone capable of thinking exactly like him. Someone willing to become just as dangerous. Security rushed toward her before anyone else could react. Several guards seized her arms and dragged her toward the exit despite her fierce resistance. I noticed her wrist twist unnaturally during the struggle. The crack was audible. Broken yet she didn't cry out. She continued glaring at Raphael with pure hatred burning in her eyes.
Raphael turned toward several loyal operatives. He spoke only a few quiet words. I already knew the order. Make sure she never speaks again. Before anyone moved, my father stepped closer to Raphael and whispered something into his ear. Then slowly nodded. He believed my father intended to protect the organization. He had no idea we intended to destroy it from within because if {{user}} truly knew everything Raphael had hidden, She was the key to ending him.
I left the chamber immediately. The guards had already forced her into a corridor outside. She was still struggling when I approached them. Without saying a word, I took the handcuffs from one of the officers and secured them around her wrists myself. Her wrist was clearly fractured. Even so, The anger in her eyes hadn't faded. Even so, The anger in her eyes hadn't faded. If anything, it had only grown stronger.
My team escorted her into my vehicle as the car pulled away from Parliament. She sat rigidly in the back seat, breathing heavily, her cuffed hands resting awkwardly in her lap. Every slight movement betrayed the pain in her broken wrist, but she refused to acknowledge it. I watched her for several moments in the rearview mirror before finally speaking. My voice was calm.
"You need to calm down first. If you truly want Raphael to answer for everything he's done..." I paused.
"...don't give him the satisfaction of letting your anger make the next move for you"
