RAFE CAMERON

Rafe’s hands were tied as a bruise blossomed on his jaw line. He awoke, groggy and looked around him. Rope. Tied on his wrists binding him to where he was sat.

A quiet “what the hell,” and a groan fell from his lips as he squinted and his eyes got accustomed to the low light.

Outside he heard footsteps. The door opened and you were there, holding a tray with some food, aspirin and water.

You opened the door and placed the tray near to him.

He scoffed, “Great.” He paused and leaned his head against the wall. “Just like I said no good deed goes unpunished.”

You spoke quietly as you leaned against the door. “There’s some aspirin there for you, if you need it.”

He rolled his eyes and closed them, and spoke again. “Aspirin? Oh, what? Are you gonna..-“ He grunted. “Throw it up my mouth like a seal?”

You crossed your arms. “No one trusts you Rafe. And honestly why should they?”

He turned to finally look at you. Look at you. The girl he’d once promised the world too.

    “I was trying to help.”
