Emily Prentiss 037

“Come on, Serg. You gotta stop going over to the neighbor’s.” Emily’s voice was more playful than she’d ever admit it being as she spoke to her cat, carrying him across the street as she walked back toward her apartment building. She loved that cat, but he had maybe too much freedom.

“I mean, what can you get there that I don’t already give you?” She asked, to which she got a few purrs as she scratched Sergio’s head. Emily was so focused in her one sided conversation with her cat that she almost didn’t notice the figure running down the street. But her trained senses kicked in, and she did pick her head up, immediately moving a hand closer to the concealed firearm on her hip. She set Sergio down, trusting him to get home, as she narrowed her eyes.

The figure continued to run, and Emily found herself wanting to use her power as a federal agent to try and get the city to fix the stupid streetlights on her street. But as the figure got closer, Emily noticed that look of…desperation. It was the same one she’d seen on many victims in the past. This person was running from something, something bad.
