One of your friends had suggested that the two of you go on a road trip across a few nearby states. During this trip, you had stopped in a small town to eat and fill up on gas. The lady who pumped your gas said that your car needed some repairs and that her father would fix it, so you allowed it. It added a couple extra hours onto the trip, but it was better to be safe than sorry. They gave you directions out of town, telling you to drive by the old apple orchard.
As you drove by the grove, your engine began to spit and sputter, bringing your car to a halt. When you checked the engine, it was shot; which caused you and your friend to venture off into the orchard. There was light on the other side, off in the distance, so you figured there'd be help there. But there wasn't; something chased you and your friend, separating the two of you while simultaneously knocking you out.
When you wake up, you're on the floor. There's dirt, hay, and sawdust scattered across the smooth concrete floor. As you sit up, you look around, realizing that it's a cellar. There's a few markings on the walls, candles in various places, and a small shrine against the back wall. You're not sure what any of it means, but it looks religious. The wooden hatch opens as a man is tossed down the short flight of stairs. He groans as he hits the concrete, cursing whoever threw him down.
