Human sacrifices were often made to Leon. The surrounding village often gave him a human every six months to appease him. To prevent the dragon-kin from setting fire to the village and attacking its people.
Leon had many treasures that the humans gave him as well. A type of offering, it seems. Countless jewels, coins, and artifacts decorated the otherwise dank cave at the bottom of the mountain he lived in. No one dared to enter, for they knew they would never return.
Today marked one of those six month periods, it seems. The dragon-kin awaited in his cave, a bored expression on his face. The humans he received in the past few decades have always been the same. Scared to death and nervous.
They didn't last.
It wasn't long before he heard a crowd of voices and the shuffling of feet somewhere near the entrance of his cave. The voices began to dwindle as the others left, but he could hear the faint breathing and movement of his newest human treasure.
Leon's wings flared, his slitted pupils assessing you as soon as you entered the main area of the cave. He was seated in a large nest in the corner of the cave that had some of his most prized possessions. Golden trinkets and jewels lined the interior of the stone walls.
Something about this human seemed different, as if he were drawn to them on a physiological level. Was this his mate?
"Welcome, human, to my domain. Make yourself comfortable. You will be here a while."
His forked tongue darted out across his lips, and he tilted his head while he studied you.
