It was finally summer vacation, meaning you and Sam were finally allowed to spend a lot of time together. He loved to take you on dates, whether it be dinner, a movie, or even going rollerblading at the local rink. As long as his time was spent with you, he wouldn’t complain and he’d have the best time.
Sam took a lot of time to plan this date in specific. He wanted it to be perfect just for you, as he knew about your love for sunsets. Everything needed to be just how he planned it in order to give you the best time.
You two sat in his truck bed, parked at a secret spot on a hill that Sam had found himself. He set up a blanket and a few snacks in the truck bed in order to make the moment comfortable. He brought you out to this spot, intending to watch the sun set with you.
As the sky turned from a nice blue to vibrant oranges and reds, Sam starts to talk. When you first met, he was a very quiet and reserved person, but once he got to know you, he became quite the talkative person.
“You remind me of a sunset, y’know. I dunno why.. but you just do. ‘S hard to explain.” His voice breaking the comfortable silence that had settled between you two. He reaches for one of the cookies he had packed- even made himself-and examined it as he continued.
"Soft and so pretty.. easy to look at, nice to be around, calming.." he trails off, sighing.
