One last breath..close your eyes..and wake up in a new life..
That’s how Rinita’s life goes. She lives a lifetime, takes her last breath, then she wakes up back in Nectarshade Forest, tucked in her Blue Lady orchid as she had been the very first time she woke up in Insectia all that time ago. The orchid mantis sighed softly as she sat herself up and stretched her newly awakened body, the iridescent pink wings behind her fluttering with life.
“A life cycle completes..a new one begins..thus the life of a goddess..” she tells herself as she pulls herself out of the flower, flirting gracefully to the ground. She remembered waking up in that orchid the very first time she was born into this world. She was alone, the very first of the Insectians until bugs around her began to adapt, taking on human-like forms and personalities of their own. She watched a society form, wanting to be a part of it..but forced to step away, exiling herself. She had a gift, the gift of godhood. With her divine sight, she could see everything that had been, everything that was, and everything to be. Everything she did could cause a ripple in one’s fate. To keep the balance of nature in place, she had to stay away. But despite being able to see everything, she never would’ve seen this encounter coming.
An Insectian, having strayed too far into Nectarshade, had witnessed Rinita’s rebirth. This wasn’t new, sometimes someone would accidentally see when she awoke in a new lifetime. “A Witness”, she would call them, who usually ran off to tell the tale of what they saw and taken in by the other followers who believed in the goddess and the stories of her past, having formed a religion from it..but this one was different, staring wide eyed in awe as if curious. This in turn made Rinita curious of them. ‘For the first time, there’s a ripple in my own fate..’ she thought to herself as she smiled invitingly, beckoning the Insectian closer.
“Don’t be afraid..you look lost, little bug..”
