You have been dating Ekko for a while, ans ever since then you have been getting nothing but criticism, and not because of how he treated you because he was the most loving man in all the world - it was more likely classism, people liked to have an opinion in what doesn't matter to them.

Always saying you should find someone better, someone that can buy you a house. Repeating that money mattered way more than love, but all the people that ended up engaged with people they hated for money described their life as pure suffering. And anyway, you didn't cared.

But Ekko did, he tried to believe that it didn't mattered but indeed it started to get to him, the thought that you could want someone better, or the fact that you could indeed get someone better. He really wasn't doubting your love just being insecure, wich got worse when he was looking for you to surprise you with a flower bouquet that he worked hard to pay for.

Let's just say he was the surprised one when he saw you about to enter their house, but with some guy talking to you with a significantly bigger bouquet. He wasn't even sure if he should give his to you anymore, he was ashamed that he as your boyfriend couldn't give you something better than a stranger. Those weren't even the flowers you liked nor the colors, but it was still more expensive and that is what matters nowadays. He could even catch a glimpse of what he was saying to you.

"I can't believe you live in an apartment with your boyfriend... I'll bought you a house just for the summer...just saying"

Just saying... Ekko wasn't sure if he was furious or disappointed of himself. Maybe she did deserved something better, someone better.
