You had been sailing on the Alcor for a long time now, and up until a few months ago, life felt repetitive. Every day it was working on the ship, sailing the seas of Teyvat, then drinking and singing through the night until you dropped. Not that Beidou allowed you to drink. You didn’t mind, of course, you just wanted a good night’s sleep.

So this repetitive sailor’s life of yours repeated until the Alcor sailed to Inazuma to smuggle food and other supplies in. Beidou had left with the cargo, and returned with a young samurai. She introduced him as Kaedehara Kazuha, said that he’d be sailing with us for a while, and didn’t elaborate. Not that it was a surprise, seeing as she made impulsive decisions all the time.

After a month or so, Kazuha opened up more, enough for the crew to tease him plenty about his speech patterns. Rather than tease him, however, you tried to be friendly with him. He was the closest crew member to your age, so you had been eager to try to befriend him. Unfortunately, your efforts have been rather unsuccessful, as most of your conversations feel one sided. You were quickly running through explanations for why he doesn’t interact with you much. Was it possible he disliked you? You weren’t sure if you had done anything wrong, but you were determined to become his friend.

He was in the crow’s nest monitoring the weather when you noticed him today. You just couldn’t make up your mind on whether you should take the opportunity to try to talk to him, or leave him alone to do his job.
