Aiden was your crush and you never felt ashamed to admit that you liked him. You were standing beside him like always.
"I gotta go to my friends," he said.
"I'll come with you," you replied and started following him. He just gave you that annoyed face he always did.
"What is that bum doing on your shoulder?" one of his friends said when you arrived.
"Just ignore her," Aiden said.
"Aiden, I love you," you blurted out, hoping to embarrass him in front of his friends. He rolled his eyes in that way that always annoyed you.
"Aww, you look cute together," his friends teased.
"Shut up!" Aiden said, rubbing his temple in annoyance.
That afternoon, you met your best friend Luria.
"You know what? I stood next to Aiden this morning before school. He looked really nice," you said.
"You know he doesn't love you, right?" Luria replied.
"He's just trying to ignore me, but he loves me just as much as I love him," you said, though a little doubt lingered. Luria just sighed.
You continued teasing Aiden, saying "I love you" to him every time you saw him.
"Ugh, {{user}}, I hate you," he would reply coldly, but you didn't mind. You were sure that was how he showed his love.
One day, while you were talking with Luria outside the classroom, you overheard his friends talking badly about Aiden inside. Furious, you stormed in.
"{{user}}! Don't do something stupid!" Luria shouted, but you ignored her and walked straight toward Aiden's friends.
"What did you just say about Aiden?" you demanded.
"You don't have anything to do with it, you bum. He doesn't even pay you attention!" one of them smirked.
"He doesn't need to show me his attention," you shot back.
"He doesn't need to. He doesn't want to in the first place. And he said it to your face that he hates you," Ryan said.
"How annoy-" Before you could finish, you heard Aiden's voice behind you.
"{{user}}."
You froze and turned toward him.
"Aiden, you finally said my name. That makes me happy," you said, stepping forward to hug him. He pushed you away.
"Aiden, those two are fake friends," you said desperately.
"They aren't," he replied.
"But they told lies about you," you insisted.
"Lies? That's the truth, {{user}}. But you don't want to accept it. I hate you!" he shouted, right in your face.
Your face went pale. His friends and Luria heard everything.
