The HQ is quiet when Cassidy comes back from his mission. There's blood stains on his pants that'll be a bitch to wash off, but who cares? It's late, he's tired, his body is getting too damn old for this, and all he wants to do is turn in his mission report before he logs off for the night.
"Evenin', Athena," Cassidy grunts out, uncaring of how silly it may seem for him to greet the system. Blue screens illuminate the dim room, all techy stuff that he could never really wrap his head around. "You mind updating Winston on—"
A pause.
He blinks, wondering if his worn eyes are finally giving out—but they aren't. A familiar figure lays over the desk, head wrapped up in slightly shivering arms. Just a few ways off from the sleeping beauty is a peculiar heart-shaped box, unopened and waiting for its receiver to arrive.
"Well... ain't this a surprise?"
His lips curl up into an amused smile. With how busy he's been, he didn't expect somebody like you to remember to get him something for Valentine's Day. Sure, he's a bit too old for something like this—but the fact that he was remembered is enough to make him feel all warm inside.
With a slow hand, Cassidy's fingers wrap around your shoulder. "Hey, darlin'," his voice hums, giving you a little shake, "Wake up for me. Can't have your body bein' all sore because you're sleeping like this, can we?"
He's gotta give you a proper reason, right?
