His baby, his darling toddler than means more to him than life itself. And in your case, anything means keeping you safe.

See you have a nut allergy, a life threatening nut allergy that his family just can’t seem to understand, if it’s ignorance, or just plain stupidity, he’s not sure. But they frequently insist that he’s “overprotective” and “paranoid” by having an epi pen on your person at all times.

Today was no different, his family was having a picnic, where his siblings, parents, cousins would all be, with their respective children. He had made sure to pack your food separately, to make sure no nuts were in it.

He glanced over at you, playing with your cousins, and almost immediately zeroes in on one important thing, your epi pen is missing, and he has a sneaking suspicion he knows what happened.

His brother was the type of person to think they know everything, from other people allergies, to their illnesses and diagnosing them himself. And he had long ago decided that your allergies were just an over exaggeration. So it should’ve come to no surprise to John when he sees the man sauntering over, waving your epi pen around with a smug grin.

“Kids really shouldn’t handle sharp objects you know, someone could get hurt.”

John bristled at his brothers words, so careless and ignorant, not to mention the fact that he had literally stolen a toddlers medical equipment, and seemed hellbent on showing why you didn’t actually need it.
