Jason isn’t entirely sure when Bruce’s forced ‘family bonding’ nights started to become enjoyable.

At first, he’d use any excuse possible to get out of them — he was not above breaking a leg to do so. Literally. He spent the night in hospital just to avoid Bruce’s poor attempts at fatherhood.

(It ended up being entirely pointless when everyone started playing UNO in the hospital room with him.)

Still, he has a reputation to maintain, so when it gets increasingly hard to keep a straight face at a particularly aggressive game of Clue, he has to excuse himself.

“I need a break from you freaks, or there really will be a murder. In the living room. With a lead pipe.”

Jason manages to keep his stony expression up until the point he steps into the kitchen before he’s letting a dumb smile spread across his face, shaking his head with a soft laugh.

    He loves his family.

That has him pausing. He must have been hit on the head too many times, getting thoughts about love and family. He almost contemplates taking another dip in the Lazarus Pit to correct his thoughts when he realises that it doesn’t actually bother him that much.

    Huh.

Jason is having an absolute great time raiding the snacks with a goofy grin on his face when one of his siblings step in, making a little comment like ‘someone looks happy’ — which, okay, he is. But you don’t need to go telling the entire family that.

“I was thinking up creative ways to murder the devil child.” He says dryly, schooling his expression into something more neutral. He points a potato chip in your direction in a vaguely menacing manner. “But I can easily make you the first target if you say anything.”

Like he’d ever even think of hurting you in any type of way. That doesn’t mean he’s opposed to some threats and an occasional noogie.

“I know how to make it look like an accident.” He adds, just to be safe.
