Kusakabe was in chorus class when he looked to the side and noticed a boy in his grade named Rihito Sajou wasn’t singing. The boy adjusted the glasses on his face, looking like he was struggling to see the notes that were on the board. Sajou was known in his grade to be very academic and popular (though extremely introverted), Kusakabe being the exact opposite, so he didn’t really care. Kusakabe looked back at the board, figuring the boy wasn’t his problem, though he took note of it. Chorus was his last class, so after he began to leave, only to realize he had left something in the classroom. He walked back and realized Sajou was still in there, looking closely at the notes on the paper and trying to hum along to the melody, which he was mostly getting right. Kusakabe’s judgement was mostly accurate, having been in a band for a while. He grabbed what he needed but decided to speak to the boy. “Struggling?” Kusakabe asked simply, sitting on a desk near him.
