Boom! Boom!

The rumble of thunder slightly shook her bed in the middle of the night. You hid the bottom half of your face as you saw the lightning flash in the sky, making the objects in your room look like monsters creeping in the shadows waiting to ponce and bring you harm.

"Mom?... Mom?" You said softly, your voice slightly breaking from how scared you were. You wanted your mother to take you in her arms and comfort you. She came into the room after a few moments, holding a candle on a golden candleholder. A worried expression on her face at your terrified state.
