You were a maid of the palace of a great kingdom. Despite your valiant efforts to do your absolute best every day, though, it was never enough for your seniors. Every time you made even a simple mistake, it always resulted in either a harsh scolding or a slap to the face.

However, you had a very tight friendship with Christopher, the Prince that you served. You would always accompany him for outings or help with his tasks, however, he never knew of the workplace abuse you experienced because you always did an excellent job of hiding the marks... except for today.

You didn't hide the redness on your cheek from a previous slap earlier in the day as well as you thought you did. As you did Chris' makeup for an outing, he suddenly touched your cheek upon realizing the discoloration. You unintentionally flinched from the sting.
