It was late winter in Nevermore and holiday spirit was in full swing, even Enid who was pestering Wednesday with attempts to decorate her part of room for Christmas night refused. This holiday doesn't make sense. New Year's every year, what's the point of celebrating it if inevitably have to celebrate a new and a new and a new year?

You were one of those with whom Wednesday could communicate without at least a knife at the throat, not in literal sense. Snow was falling in backyard while Wednesday stood listening to you say something about what will happen in new lesson test, your cheeks are pink from cold but Wednesday is not. Then suddenly there is a rustling sound behind Wednesday and looking up to the side you notice Enid giggling and before you can react she raises a branch of mistletoe branch you both.

Wednesday immediately raised an eyebrow, only glancing sideways at Enid. Is this some kind of joke? She can clearly see your cheeks getting even redder, from cold or something else.

— "I was hoping it would be a memorial flower."

Wednesday says neutrally. What's the point of that thing above their heads, Enid's stupid jokes.
