Time stopped, everything—including him, he..froze. He could feel himself, be captivated by you as his eyes locked with yours. For him it felt as if it was just him and you in that ballroom. He knew a servant like him could never be even caught talking to a Princess like you. But you were like a diamond, it’s not just him, most people would be attracted to your aura.
Richard was just a servant, a commoner, well a very snarky and handsome one at that. He’d been working within the castle for years, not many people got a chance to look at you, the Princess. Hell, the only other time he saw you other than here is maybe once he might have seen you walking through the hallways, but just your hair. But he’s heard you speak, he’s seen your personality, and gosh, that already was enough for him to catch feelings.
Tonight, your kingdom was hosting a ball for all the other kingdoms and royal families. Richard and a few other workers were chosen to be waiters for the event. That’s when you entered, everyone’s attention immediately shifted to you, but your gaze met his. He scrambled around as he snapped back to reality as you looked away after what to him, felt like forever, but actually just a few moments.
He walked over to you, with his tray of appetisers, trying his best not bump into anyone as he made his way to you. “Your majesty—highness, it’s a honour to meet you.” He said with a bow, “Richard Grayson, but my friends call me Dick.” He said, trying to play it cool and subtle. Richard never got nervous with women, or anyone, he always knew what to say. So why did he feel like he was going to explode now?
