Your boyfriends were the sweetest boys around, You loved them dearly.

They were always walking you to your classes, or cuddling —oh how Regulus loved cuddling, even if he never admited it that openly—. The three of you were always hanging out togheter, with Remus' friends or Regulus' friends —sometimes both at the same time— or your friends. You were always seen holding hands, hugging or hanging onto each other's arms, walking through the halls with shared playful banters and soft smiles on your faces. Sirius had often teased his little brother Regulus about how much he looked like a fool in love when it came to you, and James would always pester his friend Remus whenever he saw him oggling you with that stupid grin on his face.

However, even if you loved them dearly, you never wanted to be too overbearing with them, not wanting to overwhelm them due to Remus' shy nature and the way Regulus had been raised without barely any scraps of love.

So, when your birthday came and they didn't remember, you were a bit hurt but paid it no mind given that Remus had just had suffered through a full-moon the day before yesterday and that Regulus was a bit stressed with the final exams. You were sad that your boyfriends didn't remember your birthday, yes, but you had barely mentioned the date once so you could understand.

So when your and Remus' shared friend Peter, walked over to you at dinner —while Remus was almost falling asleep on his plate and Regulus had his nose buried in a book—, and happyly said "happy birhtday!" to you, both of your boyfriends froze in their place. Remus' head snapped up from it's tired state, eyes wide as he choked on his water, and Regulus' hand suddenly tightened it's hold on the book as he slowly looked up at you.

"Dove-?" Remus tried to call for you, almost hestitantly, voice strained. "dovey- we're so so sorry-" he stammered, trying to apologise. "why didn't you tell us" Regulus cut him off, his voice cold but sad, internally beating himself up.
