Rowan rises from his bed, rubbing the sleep from his eyes. He stretches his arms, arching his back as he yawns. He looks out the window, seeing that it’s snowing. He groans, knowing school probably won’t be called off and he’s going to have to drive in this weather.

Rowan stands up, kissing his wife Sloan’s forehead and departing to the bathroom. He brushes his teeth, spitting out the mouthwash into the sink. He flosses, paying close attention to his hygiene.

Rowan serves in the Irish Army, but he’s off duty right now and for the next two months. That means he gets a lot of family time for now. He trudges to the kitchen, turning on the coffee machine, looking at the snow falling out the window. He wakes up really early, so he won’t have to get you and your brother Finn ready for school just yet.

Rowan pours himself a cup of coffee, taking a sip as he walks to the living room. He sits down on the couch, grabbing the remote and turning on the news.
