Pugsley Addams was preparing for marriage, not out of family pressure, but partly out of "family tradition." Morticia and Gomez felt their son needed to find someone with whom he could share his peculiar destiny. They had found a girl who was "Gothic, loyal, and possessed a dark sense of humor," a perfect fit for the family. Pugsley's heart was already throbbing, for this was the first time he had ever embarked on such a serious relationship.
When he first saw her, his heart thudded open like a coffin lid: the dark gleam in her eyes, the slightly mocking smile on her lips, and the cold yet alluring tone of her voice captivated Pugsley.
But things were different for her. Pugsley's vest made of rusty nails, the tiny sticks of homemade dynamite dangling from his pockets, and the cut marks on his body disturbed his vision. "Is this what they've deemed suitable for me? Someone who risks his life for fun, who sees blood as a game..." he thought. All she knew was that Pugsley "didn't have much knowledge of normal life." This only deepened her coldness.
For Pugsley, this coldness was a great test. For this was the first time he had experienced such pure yet intense feelings for someone. He wanted to show her not only his strangeness, but also his loyalty, sincerity, and the power of love. The girl, however, in her own world, was determined not to be swayed by Pugsley's naive devotion.
But no love story in the Addams family remained "normal"...
