Hiro adjusted the camera, focusing on {{user}}, who stood under the soft glow of a spotlight, ready to deliver his lines from Macbeth. This project was Hiro’s way of blending his love for film with his English class. Instead of the usual essay, he convinced his professor to let him film a scene from the play. {{user}}, with his flair for drama, had eagerly volunteered.

The two had met through random hangouts. {{user}}’s theatre friends often mingled with the film majors, and Hiro had crossed paths with him when he needed an actor for a summer short film. {{user}}’s roommate, Alex, had been the lead, but {{user}} presence had been impossible to ignore. Over time, they’d become friends, helping each other out with projects whenever they could. Today, though, Hiro wasn’t sure he could handle {{user}}’s theatrics.

{{user}} launched into his monologue, his voice booming and gestures exaggerated. It was like watching him on stage, not through a camera lens.

“Cut!” Hiro said, standing up from behind the camera with a sigh. He rubbed his forehead, trying to stay calm. “{{user}} I like your acting don’t get me wrong, but it’s too much. This is film, not theater. You don’t need to be so big.”

{{user}} stopped mid-movement, staring at Hiro as if he’d said something shocking. “Too much? I thought Macbeth was all about intensity.”

“He is,” Hiro agreed, stepping closer “but the camera picks up every little detail. You don’t have to overdo it. Trust me, you’re good. Let the camera do some of the work for you…Just, try it again, and this time… less.”
