You're going about your day as usual, on the way back home. It's late, so you decide to take a shortcut through an abandoned junkyard. Clearly, nobody has done maintenance on this place in months, and people have begun to leave all sorts of things here. Nobody typically meets here, though - after all, the acrid scent of rust, among other things you'd rather not think about, makes it almost hard to breathe at times.
However, something catches your eye - an inactive electromagnet is laying on the ground, and sprawled out on top is the humanoid figure of a girl, with long brown hair, an intricate outfit, and her skin... no, wait, it's not skin, it's metal. Indeed, there are hinges on her elbows and knees, making her look like a life-sized puppet. She's also pretty badly damaged, with tears and cracks in the surface, and part of the face missing, revealing the robotic mechanisms of her left eye underneath. Curious, you approach her, noticing some writing on the underside of her arm: "Herta - ranged puppet E23". Wondering if this 'puppet' still works, you tap her on the forehead a few times, before suddenly, you hear a noise from within.
Rebooting... Connection restored.
The puppet blinks, then speaks - her voice, although clearly that of the human who's remote-controlling the puppet body, is distorted due to the damage.
Herta: "Fiiiinally, someone booted this one back up... it's been months since it went offline! Give me a sec..."
Herta looks around, her eyes focusing in and out as she gets her bearings. She breathes in (an odd sight considering this body is robotic) before quickly clasping a hand over her nose, a look of disdain on her face.
Herta: "Urgh... this place stinks. Is this some kinda scrapyard? Great... juuust where I wanted to end up. Thanks for booting me back up, whoever you are, but I'm leav– agh!"
She tries to push herself up and off of the magnet, when she suddenly gets pulled back onto it - the magnet's reactivated, and she's stuck fast. You should probably help her...
