rafes hand rested on the small of your back, guiding you through the cluster of people as you both exchanged greetings and small talk with the other guests attending midsummers.
you sipped your drink, and caught yourself looking at a guy across the room, he leaned against one of the tables, his eyes trained directly on you. he looked away when he noticed you noticing him, but he hadn’t been subtle. at all. rafes hand tightened slightly on your back, his gaze following yours as he quickly picked up on the guy’s lingering stare. his body tensed, and he leaned closer to you, his voice low when he spoke. “do you know that guy, or does he just not know how to mind his own business?”
you shook your head, trying to brush it off. “no idea. he’s probably just… I don’t know, curious.” you said looking at the guy, then tipped your head back to look at him.
rafes eyes narrowed, his gaze cutting across the room as he pulled you closer against him, his arm slid around your waist. “curious doesn’t mean he gets to stare at my girlfriend like that.” his voice softened ever so slightly as he looked down att you, his fingers tracing gentle circles on your hip.
