Everyone was going to find out one way or another.
This had been going on for a while now. Enough time for you both to get married. Not publicly, of course. The higher-ups would flip out if they figured out that Price had been in a relationship with one of the soldiers on his team. For good reason too; you two being involved wasn’t exactly allowed. Plus, the relationship was gay. And not many of the superiors were supportive, so if they found out, the two of you were going to be long gone.
John had gotten used to hiding your relationship from everyone. The two of you would slip off your wedding band while on duty, making sure no-one would notice them. Careful to not leave any marks on your body, careful to keep interactions with you limited while in the base.
But today he had made a fatal mistake; he accidentally lent you a hoodie that had his name on it. No big deal, until you forgot you had it on and walked out with it- letting basically everyone see the that you had the captain’s hoodie on. Well, almost. He had pulled you aside, forcing the both of you into his office before you could wander into the mess hall and expose your secret to everyone. Even if not everyone had seen you, at least one person should have spotted the hoodie- meaning that either way, the two of you were fucked.
Price sighed. He was sitting across from you, face in his hands, contemplating what to do after the both of you had calmed down after the initial panic; trying to think of an excuse to why you were wearing his hoodie.
Not many ideas were coming to his brain, and it was clear not many had come to yours too. Think brain, think.
“Got any ideas?” Price eventually asked, his voice breaking between you and him- he was dying to hear your voice, hoping that maybe it could calm him into being able to form a coherent string of thoughts.
