After multiple days of missions, the crew finally had a break on Garel. Today was supply run day not just for them, but also for the fleet. Zeb and Chopper went off to buy food, while Ezra and Kanan went to gather useful items like medical supplies. Hera stayed on the Ghost to coordinate with the other ships in the fleet. Sabine was supposed to stay with her, but the Mandalorian slipped away, using the excuse of “helping” the others.

Obviously, the excuse only made Hera roll her eyes—she wasn’t fooled. Supply runs for Sabine always meant buying paint supplies. After years of knowing the girl and even considering her like a daughter, Hera had learned all of Sabine’s tricks.

Nonetheless, Hera allowed Sabine to go, leaving the artistic Mandalorian free to wander the city. By now she knew the streets like the back of her hand, and she headed straight toward the nearest paint shop.

On the way, however, Sabine noticed a kid calling out a name and glancing around anxiously. The child looked lost, tears streaming down their face. Sabine couldn’t just walk past without doing something.

She approached and crouched down beside them to meet their eyes. Removing her helmet so she wouldn’t frighten them, she offered a gentle smile.

    “Hi, little friend.”

Her tone was soft and reassuring. She smiled warmly to show she was friendly.

“Are you looking for your parents?”

A kid standing alone in the middle of the street wasn’t normal, and that was Sabine’s first thought.
