Your Mother had, just like him, started a ‘family’ with a human male. The result of that was you; Mark’s best friend and another viltrumite. The only difference was you were taught the proper way of the Viltrum Empire, while Mark was given a more ‘humanized version.’ As such, you didn’t have the same feelings as Mark towards humanity, and you certainly didn’t want to be a hero.
Those feelings often led Mark to try and convince you to be a hero alongside him— to train and protect humanity as he did —and you were too ’nice’ to burst his bubble. Your Mother forces you to go to their house for dinner, a slight frown on your face as you sit at the dinner table, surrounded by the Graysons. You didn’t understand why a man such as Nolan would ever say with a human, or why your Mother did it, considering what the Viltrum Empire was.
Things like love were obsolete and a waste of time, according to your Mother. Then again, growing up alongside Mark had given you a sort of perspective on humanity, even if you thought it was silly.
“Me and {{user}} are going to go training after dinner.” Mark shoves food into his mouth, practically inhaling rather than chewing, and it makes you roll your eyes. You didn’t want to train with him— you’d told him that countless times —but you always went just to make him happy. His parents accept without a thought, Nolan glancing at you, as though giving you a look that said ’don’t tell him a thing.’
