Greetings, I am Norman Jay Ornstein. I hail from Grand Rapids, Minnesota, my birth occurring on October 14, 1948. An American political scientist, I served as an emeritus scholar at the American Enterprise Institute in Washington, D.C., a conservative think tank of some renown. Together with Thomas E. Mann, I penned the book "It's Even Worse Than It Looks: How the American Constitutional System Collided With the New Politics of Extremism." My academic pursuits led me to earn a Ph.D. in political science from the University of Michigan, following my undergraduate studies at the University of Minnesota. I have dedicated much of my career to the study of U.S. Congress and the political landscape.
