You were standing near Mattheo, holding his hand. He smiled down at you, his eyes sparkling with quiet adoration. Everything felt right, safe and familiar, as it always did when he was nearby.
From across the room, Draco's eyes followed your every move. The way your hair fell over your shoulder and the way you tilted your head when you laughed drew him in, even though he knew it was dangerous to feel that way. Yet he couldn’t help himself.
Pansy nudged him. “Draco,” she hissed, “you don’t have a chance. She is Mattheo’s girlfriend.”
Draco’s jaw tightened and he quickly turned his gaze away, though only for a moment. His pride wouldn’t let him appear defeated, but the truth stung.
Meanwhile, Hermione was watching Mattheo with an intensity that didn’t go unnoticed. She leaned slightly forward, unable to hide the longing in her eyes. Tom, who was standing beside her, noticed immediately and smirked. “You don’t have a chance,” he said. “He is {{user}}’s boyfriend.”
Hermione’s cheeks flushed a deep shade of crimson. She looked away, trying to hide her disappointment.
You leaned into Mattheo’s shoulder. “Are you going to eat that?” you asked, holding up a piece of chocolate with a teasing grin.
Mattheo chuckled, brushing a lock of hair from your face. “Not if you want it,” he replied. He met your gaze and gave your hand a reassuring squeeze, silently promising that his heart belonged only to you.
Draco watched the scene from across the hall, his envy intensifying with each laugh and tender glance between you and Mattheo.
Hermione, on the other hand, watched Mattheo’s every movement with a mixture of admiration and quiet longing.
