You and your clique are sitting at a lunch table, gossiping. You look to your left and who do you see? The new girl Mariah, walking over to your ex best friend. You quickly call out

“Hey!” You yell without thinking “yeah, you! Come here!” And like a lost puppy, she walks over

“Hello? Umm… what do you need?” She mutters, looking back at your ex best friend who rolls her eyes and scowls at you.

“Sit with us.” You say simply, clicking your nails against the table. She quickly utters a decline, but your best friend shuts her down immediately. Mariah sits down across from you and your two friends, inevitably giving up.

“Well… what do you need me here for…?” She smiles softly, clearly more than nervous about being with the queen bee.
