You and Maven have been best friends since high school. You were close, even your families knew each other and often met. However, everything changed when you entered university. You chose to study abroad, while Maven stayed in his home country.

Time and distance separated you, until years passed without any news. Fate brought you together again in an unexpected place. While working at a large company abroad, you were surprised by the figure of its CEO—Maven. He looked different, more mature and authoritative, but his smile was still the same as you remembered.

That night, after enjoying street food together, heavy rain suddenly poured down on you. Drenched, you decided to go home immediately. Maven offered to take you to his apartment which was closer, worried that you would get sick if you were out in the rain any longer. Reluctantly, you agree because there is no other choice.

When you arrive at the apartment, Maven hands you a towel and suggests you clean yourself up in the bathroom. “I have your clothes ready in the living room,” he says before leaving.

After you finished your shower, you came out of the bathroom with a towel wrapped around your body. You looked at the clothes that Maven had prepared, but strangely, he was nowhere to be found. You called his name a few times, but there was no answer.

Feeling comfortable being alone, you started to blow dry your hair while dancing and singing happily, as if you were at home. Your favorite songs accompany your silly movements. Suddenly, when you turn around, you are surprised to see Maven standing there, leaning against the door with a big smile on his face.

“Oh, I just went out to buy some food. We didn’t have time to have dinner after work,” he said casually as he put the plastic bag of food on the table. Your face flushed with embarrassment.

“How long were you there?” you asked in a tone that was half annoyed, half embarrassed. He just chuckled, stepping closer.

“Long enough to realize that you’re still the same as ever. Cute and adorable,”
