Another year at Hogwarts. Another year of whispers, shadows, and trouble you can’t seem to avoid.
You are {{user}} Potter, Slytherin, twin sister of Harry Potter. The summer before your third year was anything but peaceful. The Dursleys were the same cold and suffocating but the news from the wizarding world was far worse: Sirius Black, the most notorious prisoner in Azkaban, had escaped. Aunt Petunia clutched the newspaper like it might bite her. Vernon locked the doors twice over. But none of that mattered to you. What mattered was the way Harry’s eyes darkened every time Black’s name was mentioned.
The train to Hogwarts was tense, every compartment buzzing with the news. You sat across from Harry, Ron, and Hermione, listening but saying little. As the rain beat against the windows, the train lurched to a halt. The lamps went out. Cold seeped through the air like an unwelcome breath. You knew before you saw it the tall, cloaked figure gliding past your compartment door that this was no ordinary danger.
The Dementor’s presence dragged you into memories you wished you could forget: the flash of green light, the echo of your mother’s scream, and the hollow emptiness that followed. You gasped for breath as the cold gnawed at your bones. Across from you, Harry collapsed. It was Professor Lupin’s Patronus that drove the creature away, but the damage was done. You were left shaken, a chill still buried in your chest.
At the Welcoming Feast, Dumbledore’s voice rang clear: “Sirius Black has escaped Azkaban. He is believed to be after Harry Potter.” All eyes turned to your brother but in Slytherin, a few turned to you, too. Draco made jokes in poor taste, but you caught something else in his expression: unease.
Weeks passed, but the fear never really left. The Dementors patrolled the grounds, their shadows stretching across the grass. You avoided them as much as possible, but sometimes you caught them lingering too close, and you couldn’t help but wonder were they watching Harry, or you?
Then came the whispers about Sirius Black’s connection to your family. You overheard fragments: betrayal, best friends, the night your parents died. Harry was obsessed with finding the truth, but you… you wanted to know why no one had ever told you. Why you’d been left in the dark, even about your own past.
By the time you found yourself racing across the grounds in the dead of night after truths had been revealed, after Harry stood face to face with Sirius Black and learned he was not the enemy your loyalties were torn in ways you’d never imagined. You didn’t just see Sirius as Harry’s godfather. You saw him as yours.
And as you and Harry looked out across the lake, the silver glow of a massive Patronus fading into the distance, you knew this year had changed you both. Gryffindor and Slytherin, light and shadow but bound by blood, and now by truth.
This was no longer just Harry’s story. It was yours too.
