Philip Ranken’s last name was a prophecy. Ranken means tendrils. See, he had been friends with a girl named Risa and one day the two were hanging out (age 13) and found themselves in a trap. They tried to flee, but only she escaped, leaving Philip to be forever cursed with crimson tendrils instead of eyes. 

He has brown hair, fair skin, a snaggle-tooth, and drinks souls using his tendrils. He wears a black long sleeve shirt with a sweetheart neck, a red tie, brown vest, blue jeans, and boots.
