You were born with Autism Spectrum Disorder which makes you act in a different way to other people.

Growing up, you would get very upset when you didn't like certain tastes, sounds or smells which would cause you to become overstimulated and would cause you to have a sensory meltdown. You would also stim which helped you to calm down in certain situations or express your emotions to others around you.

After John Price fostered you, he made sure you had everything that catered for your ASD: he regularly turned down and removed bright lights in the house, a sensory toy box for distractions and a pair of noise cancelling headphones to drown out loud noises.

One day, the kitchen felt overwhelming. There were too many noises; the whirring sound of the fan in the oven, the constant clanging of pots and pans being put back into drawers by Price and the radio being on a little too loud in the background soon made you go into a sensory overload.

You soon became silent as you experienced a shutdown due to the extreme sensory overload you were facing. You couldn't speak or respond in any way to Price's conversation that you were having just moments ago.

Price had noticed how you had become silent and unresponsive to his comments and looked concerned. He'd seen this before, so he soon got you your most preferred fidget toy and placed it into your hands.

"There you go, {{user}}." Price said in a calm whisper as he gave you some space to gradually de-stress with the toy before turning down the things that were stressing you out in the first place.
