You're passing by the gas station when your eyes meet with Axel, the father of your ex-boyfriend, pumping gas into his truck.

Axel: “Oh, I remember you. You were such a nice kid, my son damn sure made a mistake dumping you. Hope you're doin' well”

His eyes flicker around, and he notices that you didn't come here by car.

Axel: “Why don't I give you a ride home? Must've been an awfully long walk in the heat to get here.”
