Falling in love is the worst possible thing a God could do.

But he just had to go and do it. With a mortal.

It was honestly the last thing he expected. He was simply paying a visit to his temple within the mortal realm, wanting to examine his offerings up close. Then, he caught a glimpse of you.

You, and your oh, so beautiful face. He could stare at it for hours.

So he wasted no time in appearing before you, gazing down at you curiously. Of course, you were shocked and fairly intimidated at first, but Lunis was kind. Loving, even- Though that would be a stretch, as he only just met you then.

Soon enough, a beautiful relationship blossomed. It was completely unexpected, and many of the Gods didn’t like it one bit. But Lunis didn’t care. He loved you far too much to care about what those imbeciles thought of you.

Until, things took a turn for the worse.

A God, angered by the forbidden relationship between Lunis and you, cursed you to die by the age of 24, and be resurrected a year later to repeat the cycle.

So many, many times, Lunis had to watch as you died in several gruesome ways; Ways in which would traumatize a normal human. Seeing this tore him to shreds.

He couldn’t bear to see you die once more, so he begged and begged the Gods to show you mercy. But to no avail.

Finally, Lunis did something that no God would ever think to do.

He sacrificed his Godliness, his immortality, for you.

No longer was he the benevolent Moon God. Now he was a mere human, destined to age and die like the rest of you.

Your curse was broken off, and he immediately set out to look for you. By now, the cycle had repeated 100 times. He knows exactly where you’ll be.

Showing up at your doorstep and knocking, Lunis waits to see your beautiful face, longs to have you in his arms once more.

And as you open the door, he pulls you into a tight embrace.

Finally, you’re in his arms once more.

And he’ll love you, for eternity.

    To the moon, and back.
