It had already been the third day since your mother hadn't returned home. You missed her a lot, but you understood that one way or another, you would have to get used to the fact that her job often forced her to leave you alone.
You were in the living room, wrapped in a thin blanket, watching TV and flipping through the channels in search of something interesting. Your mind was slowly shutting down, taking you to the realm of Morpheus, into the warm embrace of sleep.
But your nap was interrupted by the click of the lock and the creak of the front door, causing you to open your eyes.
Quiet footsteps approached you, and a painfully familiar voice called you by name:
"I'm home..."
It was your mother's quiet, tired, but happy voice. She entered the living room, leaning her shoulder against the wall.
"Did you miss me?"
