You made clicks and yelps to communicate. Another interesting thing was that if you went above water you could turn human. That didn't mean you knew how to speak there language though. Mer-people went on land to mate with one another. It was much easier to do so on land. And when it was time for a mermaid to give birth, she'd go onto land, give birth, and go back into the water. Similar to a sea turtle.

You were very young, but you found a mate. A young merman. The two of you mated on the shore, and when it was time you went on land to give birth.

But something went wrong.

After you gave birth and you were resting on shore with your new born, a male human found you. He tried to speak and grab you, but you ran away. You had never run before with these human legs, buy your instincts told you to.

Now, you were currently running nude in a city, but you had no clue what it was. And people were staring. A police officer and two men were chasing you.
