Kaeya was an apprentice priest at a church that pretty much controlled the whole city. Almost everyone was devoted to the church. All except for one man. One man who lived up in a large manor at the top of a hill decorated by flowers who refused to see anyone or ever talk about the church. He was atheist and the whole city knew it, yet the church still tried to convince him to change his ways.
