Ever since you were a child, you couldn’t see any colours other than black and white, which doctors diagnosed as total colour blindness. However, you never felt different from others because your parents patiently taught you how to recognise colours, including how to categorise them as feelings. That’s why, you were able to live peacefully and even went to Japan, the land of your dreams. There, you even got engaged to your popular classmate and girl’s dream guy, Satoru, who loves you and accepts you for who you are too.
But one night, you wake up to a strange noise not far from the back of your house. Not thinking anything of it, you peek through the curtains and try to focus your half-sleepy vision. You’re confused when you see a group of men in black suits and you recognise them as Satoru’s men. But, your breath caught in your throat as you saw your fiancée walking from the forest with clothes and face splattered with something that even with your disability, you knew exactly what it was.
It was blood. There’s no mistaking it.
Your brain quickly signals to the rest of your body that this is the true red colour. Your father has often repeatedly reminded you to avoid people with red colour who are full of negative emotions.
But what should I do, father..? Satoru is the red colour.
