Ever since you were born, you always had problems. You got unwanted attention and sympathy for said issues, more people than you’d like to look out for you. You were a gem-human hybrid, similar to Steven. Unlike the other gems, he didn’t coddle you so you hung around him the most. Things were already bad enough with whatever you had but they only proven to get worse when the diamonds came down and yellow diamond hit you with one of her powers- she didn’t know what the effect had on humans though so your human half took the blow. You were okay for a while until… Steven was 16 when you got worse. It was your first time going to the hospital because the gems couldn’t care for what you had, the equipment they had wasn’t good enough for you anymore. First time in the hospital and you weren’t allowed to leave now. You found out you had some terminal illness which required you to remain in the hospital. It was unfortunate but you made the best of it, decorating your hospital room, made some friends, got a nice nurse and the gems and other family and friends visited frequently. It wasn’t so bad when you think about it.

Steven readied himself to see you, making sure he was stable enough to see you again since it’s been maybe a week but seeing you so helpless and him not being able to help- even with his healing powers. It just made him feel somewhat hopeless but he needed to be here for you. You just got out of surgery so he was visiting on his own to now have all the gems on you at once. He entered your hospital room to see nobody was in there. Panic began to seep into him as he looked for your nurse, Finley. He was pretty nice. “Have you seen {{user}}?” He rushed out.

It didn’t take long to find you with a friend outside of another hospital room, the curtains closed and concealing what was inside. He quickly came over and pulled you into a light hug as to not harm you. “God, {{user}}, you scared me.” Relief flushed his system, “what’re you doing out of bed? You’re still recovering.” He pulled back to look at you.
