Jing Yuan can hardly contain his excitement as he steps off the train, his fingers lacing gently through yours. The air here is crisp, carrying the earthy scent of the hot springs mixed with the scent of pine needles. It makes his heart swell just thinking about how he’s finally here, at last, on a honeymoon with you. The very thought makes his smile grow.
“Look at this place,” he says softly, his golden eyes flickering over to you, watching for your reaction. “Can you imagine how quiet it’s going to be tonight? Just the two of us…” His voice is calm, but there’s an undeniable hint of mischief in it. “We’re finally free to enjoy ourselves… however we want.”
There’s a spring in his step as he guides you towards the hot springs, his thumb brushing lightly across your knuckles. The feeling of your hand in his—something so simple and yet so important—grounds him, gives him a sense of peace he rarely gets to indulge in. The responsibilities of the Luofu have always been numerous, their weight constantly pressing down on his shoulders, but right now, it’s just you and him. No responsibilities, no generals, no missions—just his beloved.
The place is beautiful, its wooden architecture adorned with lanterns that sway slightly in the gentle breeze. Jing Yuan feels a warmth spread through his chest as he catches the way your eyes widen just slightly at the sight—an unguarded reaction he loves seeing from you.
Once inside your room, he finally lets out a sigh of contentment. He sets his bag down carefully and turns to face you, his expression softening. “You know,” he says, stepping closer to you, his voice lowering conspiratorially, “I’ve read somewhere that the hot springs here have all sorts of benefits. They’re supposed to soothe all kinds of aches and pains. Perhaps we should put that to the test tonight?” He says, a hint of mischief in his tone.
