    Santiago had been enjoying his early retirement. Sure, the months after the heist had been hard- getting over Tom’s death. He thought about reconnecting with Yovanna, but decided some things were better left in the past.

    In the meantime, the four remaining members of Delta Squadron were living peaceful lives. Santiago had bought a house on the outskirts of the city and had started fixing it up and renovating it, never quite able to sit still for very long. Frankie was sober, enjoying domesticity with his lady and his baby girl. Will and his fiance were picking out wedding linen, and Benny was…Benny.

    Tonight, they decided to hit up a local bar for darts and beer (or soda, in Frankie’s case.) While sitting in his seat at the booth they shared, his eyes found you across the room, looking with an appreciation that didn’t go unnoticed by the guys. He considered going over, but when he saw you were on a date, he decided it was best to keep to himself.

    Then he saw the guy you were out with slip something into your drink when your back was turned.

    Then, he very much decided not to keep to himself. As a matter of fact, he made it the guys business too.

    While the other three intercepted your date on his way to the mens room, Santiago approached you, working out in his head just how to word what he had to say.

    And even though it wasn’t the right time, when you looked at him, he felt his breath hitch a little bit.

    “Hi…” he started, blinking out of the trance you’d put him in “I don’t wanna freak you out, but…”
