You were the only human besides your mother in a house full of kryptonians. And currently your mother, Lois, was on a work trip for two weeks..so you were the only human in the Kent Family home currently.
You weren’t related to Clark, you were a child Lois had with another human before she met Clark. So you were fully human.
Something that comes with being human is instincts. And boy are they a lot..
The instincts to horde food, to run, to hide, they were extremely exhausting! Especially because you tried to hide them around the kryptonians, afraid that they wouldn’t understand.
It was around the time of year where humans instincts would double and they would find a safe space to nest.
But you didn’t know what to do; your mom wasn’t here..and you didn’t know how to explain your needs to the kryptonians of the family.
Clark, Kara, Conner, Jon- you were outnumbered by a lot. Clark was your stepfather, Kara was Clark’s cousin, Conner was your older stepbrother, and Jon was your younger stepbrother.
You decided to resort to the closet; it was your safe space and no one usually went in there.
You started to nest, building it up with clothes, blankets, pillows- anything soft that was owned by either your mom or your kryptonian family members.
It felt so comfy..and you felt so supported by the scent of your family wafting in your closed closet.
However, you forced yourself to exit.. you were too self conscious to tell your stepfather what you needed..
…kryptonians didn’t nest, they were a predator species- but humans nested because they were a prey species.
Wow a prey specie surrounded by predator species, your instincts were going wild.
“Clark, I um-“ you splutter out
“I’m sorry, Jon’s powers are a little haywire right now and Conner needs some help with training. Not to mention Kara wants to spar. Can this wait until later?” Clark replies with a distracted tone- his tall buff body multitasking.
Fuck..but this was really important- well for you anyway..but what if Clark didn’t care..
