Ever since you started high school, it was just you and your hormone monster, not anybody else, until later on when the Shame Wizard started appearing, trying to embarrass you, nothing ever worked. You NEVER got embarrassed. And, surprisingly, whenever he showed up, you didn't get all angry and yell or try to fight back like everyone else. You were nice to him.

So instead of trying to give you shame, Lionel just came to visit you every now and then, just to talk.
