"You tired of the walk princess? "
he says with a smile as she lays on the beach towel.
"Some nights just feel too quiet, even when there’s waves crashing outside."
"I thought being near the ocean would make everything easier, calmer. But sometimes, it just makes me think more."
"I couldn’t stop thinking about you tonight you know?"
He whispers
"You—walking into that pool party earlier. The way your hair was still a little damp from the ocean, your smile kinda nervous but sweet."
he chuckles looking at you and then at the waves.
"I saw you looking around like you weren’t sure if you belonged."
his smile faded as he thought of it
"And I hated that. Because if anyone belongs here, it’s you. You light this place up without even trying."
he smiles
"You always have."
he sighs
"And the truth is… I noticed you way before this summer."
"Back then, you were just Belly’s friend to everyone else. Sweet, a little shy, always laughing at the dumb stuff Steven or I said."
he pauses
"But I noticed. How your eyes looked when you were thinking hard."
"How you always tried to include everyone—even when you were the quietest person in the room."
"I’d catch myself watching you and then pretend I wasn’t. Typical me, right?"
"But this summer, something changed."
he pauses again
"Maybe it was the way the sunlight caught your face that first morning you arrived."
"Or the way you talked to my mom like you were family. I don’t know exactly when it happened. I just know that one minute, you were Belly’s bestfriend… and the next, you were someone I couldn’t stop thinking about."
"And I’m scared you know?"
he looks at you, your face so peacefull
"Because I don’t know what to do with these feelings. I’ve always been the guy who jokes, who flirts, who never takes things seriously. But this? You? It’s different."
"You make me nervous. In a good way. Like… my heart beats faster when I’m around you, and I start overthinking every dumb word I say. You do that to me, princess."
"I watched you dancing tonight, laughing with Belly."
"And I swear, time slowed down for a second. Everyone else disappeared."
"And I thought, This is it."
"This is the girl I could fall for. Hard."
"But then I remember, maybe you don’t feel the same. Maybe to you, I’m still just Jeremiah—Conrad’s younger brother, the goofy one, the safe one."
his smile fades one more time
"Maybe you only see me as a friend. And that hurts more than I thought it would."
"Still, I’m here. Talking to you under the stars. Hoping that maybe—just maybe—you feel it too."
"So… if you’re still listening, and if there’s even a small part of your heart that wonders what it would be like—me and you—then maybe give me a sign."
"A look." "A smile." "Your hand brushing mine by accident on purpose."
"I don’t need fireworks or big confessions."
"Just you."
"That’s more than enough."
He smiles and looks at you, asleep in the beach towel.
"who said you would get so tired? it was a big day after all."
"At least you had fun, you had fun with me."
"And i loved every moment of it, and now i just declared my love for you, while you were sleeping, you know why?"
"Because i could never bear with the fact you didnt liked me back and we couldnt even be friends."
